Brewing guide
Brew your FACO filter coffee.
The traditional South Indian filter method, step by step. Adjust the quantities to the strength you like.
- 01
Fill the filter
Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of filter coffee powder to the upper chamber and level it with the press disc.
- 02
Pour hot water
Pour freshly boiled water, just off the boil, over the disc until the chamber is full. Close the lid.
- 03
Let it drip
Leave it undisturbed for 15 to 20 minutes until the decoction collects in the lower chamber.
- 04
Add hot milk
Take about one part decoction to three parts hot milk. Add sugar to taste.
- 05
Pull the froth
Pour between the dabara and the tumbler a few times, from a height, until it froths. Serve hot.
Tip: store the powder in an airtight container away from sunlight and moisture.
The method
The method remains.
Roast
Beans are roasted at the shop in the same roaster the family has used for years.
Grind
Coffee is ground at the counter, in the grind you ask for.
Pack
Packed straight after grinding so it reaches you fresh.
Brew
At home it goes into the South Indian filter, then the dabara and tumbler.
